Test Format & Procedure
Test structure
- Two dialogues (each ~300 words), split into short segments
- After each segment, interpret into the other language (EN <-> LOTE)
- Total test time typically around 20-30 minutes
- Scenarios reflect everyday AUS contexts (health, education, legal, housing, transport)
Test procedure
- Listen to each segment and convey meaning accurately (not word-for-word)
- Use the short pause to plan your first sentence; start promptly
- Speak clearly at a natural, conversational pace
- Responses are recorded and assessed after the test
- The test is delivered online with remote ID checks
Technical requirements
- Computer/laptop with stable internet
- Updated browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
- Working microphone and speakers/headphones
- Quiet, private environment; valid photo ID
- Backup internet recommended
